One of the Directors of RMR APAC Investments has been a corporate and property lawyer, admitted to practice in Australia for almost 20 years, and a general counsel of ASX listed property funds management companies.
We focus on:

We advise on Australian investment property, in the areas of commercial, retail, integrated resorts & development sites for these classes. Australia is now rated as a world class property investment destination, giving safe, secure returns in well governed sovereign country.
Agribusiness
RMR APAC Investments has acted on major Australian agribusiness transactions for Asia Pacific clients, including:
- Large scale farm investment (beef, grazing and dairy)
- Large scale agribusiness processing (beef, grain and dairy)
Australian agricultural land is seen as very inexpensive in world terms, is clean and highly productive. Food is a premium resource in Asia, and Australia is the food bowl for Asia now. As an investment class Australian agricultural land is a very safe, and (in current low interest rate / return environment) a very high yielding and non-correlated asset class. Mostly it is freehold title, and gives high returns (capital and income).

Example Transactions
- Due diligence and acquisition of a portfolio of more than 20 farming properties across Australia for Hong Kong listed CK Life Sciences – a listed Hong Kong company. This was a ~A$200 million plus acquisition of the Challenger Wine Trust, and included all property law related issues, and acquisition of valuable Water Rights.
- Advice on and successful sale of a large portfolio of forestry farming properties in NSW to State Forests of NSW and Weyerhauser of the USA (the second largest forestry company in the world).
- Adviser to a very large company acquiring large properties across the NSW high country for conversion from broad-acre farming to forestry.
- Adviser to many major private family farming groups in acquisition of farmland in NSW and Victoria, and also structuring of transactions, for beef cattle and sheep/wheat and dairy operations.
- Also, involved with water rights acquisition and sales, on behalf of owners and Banks (including National Australia Bank), and acting for National Australia Bank doing corporate recovery work on many large farming properties. Also, experience in the Western Division Lands area, acquiring and structuring large NSW grazing property acquisitions and sales.
Vineyards
RMR APAC Investments have been instructed to sell a number of large vineyard properties on behalf of Australian vendors, to Chinese clients. One included a large Chinese wine export business.
RMR APAC Investments was recently instructed to sell a large (~A$20 million) dairy operation for more than 1000 cows.
